Sisterhood

The Gomley Chesed Sisterhood welcomes all women of our congregation to help foster the traditions of Judaism in
our lives. Through the work of our members, we are able to support and fund many of the ongoing educational,
social and religious activities at Gomley Chesed:

•  Joint Programs with Men's Club – Our members work closely with the Men's Club to help fund and conduct
special events, such as the Shabbat Across America dinner, Jewish Film Festival, and our Passover Seder.

•  Fundraisers – Sisterhood sponsors a variety of fundraisers throughout the year, including a bake sale on every
Election Day to serve the hungry voters who cast their ballots at the Gomley Chesed polling place.

•  Service to the Synagogue – Sisterhood manages the synagogue kitchen and sponsors a variety of special luncheons,
kiddushes, and dinners throughout the year. We also purchase flowers, decorations, and otherwise assist in preparing
and beautifying the shul for festivals and special events.

•  Service to the Community – Our members donate their time to many worthy causes such as Meals on Wheels,
Ladies' Auxiliary Jewish War Veterans, Hadassah, and regular visits to our friends and members in local hospitals and
nursing homes.
